Curators Stuart Koop and Heidi Arbuckle
Indonesion artist collective Taring Padi have produced banners, posters, street puppets, leaflets and newspapers, in collaboration with various communities including students and farmers, to represent minority views within Indonesian and international cultural forums. Formed six months after the resignation of President Suharto in 1998, its aim is to rebuild a 'people's culture' through programs of cultural activism. This exhibition includes a cross-section of the group's collaborative work since 1998.
This project is supported by the Adelaide Festival and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade through the Australian Cultural Residency Program
