MUMA presents a range of public program events to expand critical debate and participation in the contemporary visual arts. The Helen Macpherson Smith Education Space and the Ian Potter Sculpture Court are dedicated venues for MUMA events. MUMA events include keynote lectures, workshops and forums, film/video screenings, floortalks by curators and artists and performances.

Workshop: Casting with Claire Lambe Spend an afternoon casting objects, learn the two-part molding process, and help to create a collaborative installation in MUMA's Ian Potter Sculpture Court. Beginners welcome, suitable for students and individuals 15 years and over. Date: Saturday 3 March 2012 Time: 1.30 – 4.30pm Cost: $30 waged, $15 student / unwaged. Public Lecture: Jan Verwoert A contributing editor of Frieze Magazine, Jan Verwoert also writes for the journals Afterall and Metropolis. His book, Bas Jan Ader - In Search of the Miraculous was published in 2006 by Afterall Books / MIT Publishing. Public Lecture: Ute Meta Bauer Curator and academic, Ute Meta Bauer is Dean of the School of Fine Art at the Royal College of Art in London. She was Artistic Director at the Kunsterhaus Stuttgart (1990-1994) where she founded the art periodicals META and Verksted. Bauer was co-curator of Documenta 11 (2002) and Artistic Director of the 3rd Berlin Biennial (2004). Ute Meta Bauer's visit is kindly supported by Goethe-Institut.
