MUMA Events & Public Programs

 

MUMA presents a range of public program events to expand critical debate and participation in the contemporary visual arts. The Helen Macpherson Smith Education Space and the Ian Potter Sculpture Court are dedicated venues for MUMA events. MUMA events include keynote lectures, workshops and forums, film/video screenings, floortalks by curators and artists and performances.

Public Lecture: Feminist Film in the Age of the Chick Flick: Global Flows of Women's Cinema
Join Professor Patricia White, Chair of Film and Media Studies, Swathmore College (USA) and Professor Helen Grace, Visual Culture Studies, Chinese University of Hong Kong. Followed by a reception and private viewing of the exhibition A Different Temporality: Aspects of Australian Feminist Art Practice 1975 - 1985 at MUMA. Presented by the Research Unit for Film Culture and Theory, School of English, Communications and Performance Studies Faculty of Arts, Monash University.
