Kate Barber has a background in visual arts, education and arts management. Kate has previously held positions at The Royal Academy of Arts (London); The Ian Potter Museum of Art, The University of Melbourne and the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA), where she was employed as Education and Public Programs Manager from 2000-2005.

As an independent education consultant Kate has developed web-based interpretive education kits, exhibition texts, programs and resources for the Centre for Contemporary Photography (CCP); Linden Centre for Contemporary Arts and National Exhibitions Touring Support (NETS), Victoria. Kate co-curated (with Jan Duffy) the exhibition ‘Reflections in a Golden Eye’ at Linden Centre for Contemporary Arts (2006). Kate is a current member of the Cunningham Dax Collection Education sub-committee and is passionate about increasing youth access to and engagement with contemporary art.

In 2006 Kate took up the position at MUMA as Audience Development and Public Programs Officer.
