Entry to Monash University

More than 80 per cent of Foundation Year graduates accept an offer at Monash University and these students do very well during undergraduate studies.

Passing Monash University Foundation Year

Students must pass English and achieve 50 per cent or higher in at least three other subjects to pass Monash University Foundation Year.

Please note that students must meet all entry requirements for their preferred Monash degree course to gain entry to the University. A pass grade does not quarantee entry.

Foundation Year subjects are graded as:
High Distinction (HD) 80-100%
Distinctions (D) 70-79%
Credit (C) 60-69%
Pass (P) 50-59%
Fail (N) 0-49%

Calculating your Foundation Year score

To calculate Foundation Year scores for Monash University admission, add together the eight highest passed unit scores and divide by two. Any bonus points which may apply are then added to this score.

Minimum entry score

Entry scores are different for each Monash University degree. Visit the Monash University Course Finder for entry requirements for your desired course.

Monash University faculties grant entry score bonus points if you complete nine or ten units within the same academic year.

Prerequisite subjects
