Safe Tractor Assessment Rating System (STARS) 
Welcome to STARS - a system to assist in the systematic
assessment of the relative safety of tractor design features. The STARS
package consists of two documents:
-
STARS Reference (.pdf
[1MB])- which includes the system, rationale and technical references;
-
and STARS Worksheet (.pdf
[740KB])which is used to conduct a rating, and includes summary and
feedback sheets.
We recommend that you read STARS Reference, especially
pages 3-7, before you do a rating for the first time.
Use the STARS Worksheet to actually conduct and record a
tractor rating.
Use the summary sheet in STARS Worksheet to record the
results for quick future reference.
We encourage you to complete and return the feedback sheet
at the end of the STARS Worksheet so the system can be improved in future
updates.
We hope that you find STARS a useful resource in the
management of tractor safety.
