Professor Rod McClure

Over the past 10 years, Professor Rod McClure has established the Queensland Trauma Registry (as Foundation Director), the Centre of National Research on Disability and Rehabilitation Medicine (as Foundation Acting Director and subsequently Deputy Director), Injury Prevention and Control (Australia) Ltd (as CEO and Research Director), and the Griffith Strategic Program in Population Health (as Program Lead).
Professor McClure has a long standing international reputation as a leading researcher in injury prevention, which led to his appointment as the Director of the Monash University Accident Research Centre in July 2007. His inclusion in the driving simulator team will inject the perspective of an additional important discipline (epidemiology), and bring considerable experience in the management of cross-disciplinary collaborative research.
In addition to the developmental role he has played in driving research programs towards successful outcomes, Professor McClure has maintained active teaching and administrative roles in the faculties of health at the University of Queensland and Griffith University.
