Evaluation of the Recreational Boat Operator Licensing Scheme

Pre-licence boating safety knowledge test and safety attitudes and behaviours survey

Thank you for following the link from the MSV website to this survey. Monash University Accident Research Centre is independently evaluating the Boat Operator Licensing Scheme. If you are prepared to:

  • answer these survey questions NOW;
  • give us your personal details (name and drivers licence number) so we can check to see if you pass your recreational boating licence in 2007 or 2008

Part 1 - Demographics and prior boating experience

Part 2 - Boating safety knowledge test

There are 3 sections in the knowledge test that cover information in each of Chapters 1-3 of the Victorian Recreational Boating Safety Handbook. As you have not yet studied the handbook in detail, you should not expect to be able to answer all of these questions correctly.

Section 1: Trip preparation
