Postgraduate Scholarships at Monash University Accident Research Centre (MUARC)
The Monash University Accident Research Centre (MUARC) is a world leader in injury prevention research and fosters scientific advancement of the field through its high quality postgraduate training program. A range of scholarships are available in 2008 for postgraduate students to study at MUARC, including:
- Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA) offered by the Australian Government; and
- Monash Graduate Scholarships (MGS) offered by Monash University
Candidates may have a degree in any discipline relevant to injury prevention, preferably at first-class honors level. Please note that these scholarships are available to Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents and New Zealand citizens only.
The successful candidates will undertake their studies at the Monash University Accident Research Centre in one of the following broad areas:
- Injury epidemiology
- Injury prevention in the ageing population
- Product safety and technology impact
- Implementation and evaluation methods in injury prevention
- Road safety: including human factors, vehicle safety and injury biomechanics
- Injury prevention in the workplace
- Injury prevention in developing countries

How To Apply:
There is a two-step application process:
- Applicants should first complete the Expression of Interest (EOI) Form available at www.monash.edu.au/muarc/postgraduate/index.html and submit this form to the Postgraduate Studies Administrative Officer (at the above address). Closing date for EOIs is Friday October 5th 2007.
- Successful applicants will be invited to make a full application using the Monash Postgraduate Research Scholarships 2008 Kit and Application Form. The closing date for full applications is Wednesday October 31, 2007.
