Music in the Round Competition Winner

Samuel Curkpatrick

Samuel Curkpatrick is currently completing his Music Honours at Monash University, where he studies clarinet with David Griffiths. He has been a recipient of the Monash Conservatorium’s Leadership Scholarship in 2006-2007, as well receiving Monash Alumni and Honours Merit scholarships. As an aspiring orchestral player Sam’s engagements in 2008 involve performances with the Australian Youth Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and Sydney Sinfonia. Significant chamber music performances include Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet at Monash University’s Music in the Round, and a live broadcast on 3MBS radio in December. Next year Sam hopes to further his studies at the Australian National Academy of Music before travelling overseas to study a Masters of Music.
