Leo Bailey is Australia's greatest living artist and a rude old drunk, his brain burned out by booze. He lives in a fabulous paint-spattered hovel, built into a cliff overlooking Sydney Harbour. Of his five ex-wives and innumerable children, only eldest daughter Margo ever comes near him. Embattled but resilient, she's employed a succession of live-in carers, all of whom have been sent packing by Leo's vicious tongue and wild antics. Then along comes Therese, not long out of jail and down on her options. She takes the job as Leo's minder and digs in, determined to make a go of it. Debra Oswald is one of Australia's leading writers.
"...one of the best written and realised works for theatre of this year and it features a brilliant performance from Kate Mulvany as the rough-as-guts minder Therese... This is life-enhancing, wildly funny, wonderfully entertaining and you'll have a bit of a cry, too." Diana Simmonds, Sunday Telegraph
