Code of practice for supervision

Best practice supervisor training

Monash research supervisors must be MIGR members, who have completed our supervisor training program – cited as international best practice in A Handbook for Doctoral Supervisors in 2005 and as national best practice by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency’s predecessor in 2006.

Research at Monash University follows a strict code of practice, which covers the research responsibilities of the University, its supervisors, candidates, faculties, centres and other academic units.

The code includes guidelines on conflicts of interest.

Anyone intending to supervise Monash research students should read these documents carefully.
