Specialised doctorates

We offer several specialised research degrees that may better suit your potential and your circumstances than the traditional PhD.

Doctor of Medicine (MD)

The Monash Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences offers two world-class MD programs.

The MD with supervision is similar to a PhD, providing research training through the independent investigation of a research question that you have formulated.

Candidates for the MD without supervision are given the opportunity to submit a thesis based upon a published or unpublished paper.

Staff PhD

Monash academic staff members may be eligible for staff PhD candidature.
