There is no credit provision for research components in research master’s degrees. Credit may be awarded for up to 100% of coursework components in research master’s degrees where:
In those cases where a candidate is transferring his/her candidature from another institution, the extent of credit transfer will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
For those enrolled by external mode (i.e. those who will pursue their research at institutions or locations outside their approved campus of enrolment), any coursework component would normally be pursued on campus, unless such units in online or off-campus learning mode are approved by the Graduate Research Committee (GRC), following a submission by the relevant faculty.
Credit is endorsed by the supervisor and graduate coordinator and approved by GRC. The granting of credit may alter the duration of candidature applied.
