2.11 Probationary candidature
Probationary candidature applies for all research master’s candidates. See also Section 3.8 in Chapter 3.
Except where GRC in any particular case otherwise determines, where:
- the study program is of 1.5 years (full-time) duration, the first six to nine months full-time (or equivalent) is a period of probationary candidature;
- the study program is of two years (full-time) duration, the first nine to twelve months full-time (or equivalent) is a period of probationary candidature.
The head of the academic unit may lodge a request for deferral of the confirmation process where it is anticipated that a candidate will transfer to doctoral candidature following at least nine months full-time or 24 months part-time candidature.
