For the research master’s program a budget is required for the research project.
The Faculty of Art, Design & Architecture requires candidates enrolled in the Master of Fine Art to have successfully completed ADM5001 or Master of Design (by Research) to have successfully completed MDS5031, or met the requirements detailed in Section 3.8.1, other than when a candidate is transferring to a PhD:

The research master’s programs in Arts have specific requirements in relation to the written submission (the timing of confirmation and the oral requirements are the same as the University-wide requirements – see Section 3.8.1). The Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences requires all research master’s candidates to submit a progress report of a minimum of 3000 words.
The Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences has no specific requirements, however all candidates are required to meet with the Associate Dean Research Training once confirmation of candidature is complete.
The Faculty of Science requires all research master’s candidates to submit a brief literature review and research project plan in the first 3–6 months of candidature.
