1.10 Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences

1.10.1 Master of Biomedical Science

The Master of Biomedical Science degree is a two-year full-time equivalent program. The degree is offered as a 100% research program, requiring a thesis of 70,000 words. This degree is offered at Monash University’s Caulfield, Clayton and Peninsula campuses. Candidates may also be based at the following approved locations affiliated with Monash University: Alfred Hospital, Baker IDI, Box Hill, Burnet Institute, The Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, Mental Health Research Institute, Monash Medical Centre, Murdoch Childrens Research Institute, Notting Hill, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Prince Henry’s Institute, Southbank, St Vincent’s Institute, Walter and Eliza Hall Institute, and approved off-site locations.

1.10.2 Master of Nursing (Research)

The Master of Nursing (Research) degree is a two-year full-time equivalent program. The degree is offered as a 100% research program, requiring a thesis of 70,000 words. This degree is offered at Monash University’s Clayton, Gippsland and Peninsula campuses.

1.10.3 Master of Reproductive Sciences

The Master of Reproductive Sciences degree is a two-year full-time equivalent program, offered as a 70% research program requiring a thesis of 50,000 words, and coursework units. This degree is offered at Monash University’s Clayton campus. Candidates may also be based at Monash Medical Centre and Prince Henry’s Institute.

1.10.4 Master of Social Work (Research)

The Master of Social Work (Research) degree is a two-year full-time equivalent program. The degree is offered as a 100% research program, requiring a thesis of 30,000–40,000 words. This degree is offered at Monash University’s Caulfield and Clayton campuses. Candidates may also be based at Notting Hill and approved off-site locations.
