9.5 Statistical consulting service

The statistical consulting service (Monash only) for research candidates is funded by the Monash University Institute of Graduate Research Office and provided jointly by the Department of Econometrics and Business Statistics, the School of Mathematical Sciences and the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine.

9.5.1 Level of assistance

Graduate research candidates are eligible for up to 10 hours of free statistical assistance over the course of their candidature. If more time is required, an hourly fee will be charged.

9.5.2 Short courses

A series of short courses on statistical subjects of relevance to graduate candidates will be offered throughout the year. Basic courses are presented in semester one followed by more advanced courses in Semester two.
