Assessment completion time

Examiners have eight weeks to complete thesis assessment. If you need more time, please inform us so that we can update the candidate and supervisor.

Submitting your report form

We prefer that you email your report form and thesis comments to us. You may also fax your report, or send a hard copy together with the thesis.

Release of reports

Once we receive your report and comments, we will send the unedited assessment (including your identity) to the candidate, their supervisor and the head of the academic unit.

Returning the thesis

Return the thesis copy to:

You must provide an original receipt to claim a postage refund. We will only reimburse the cost of standard mail, not couriered mail. You can return the thesis by registered post within Australia or standard airmail if overseas.

If you wish to have a copy of the thesis, you still need to return the copy we sent you as most candidates need to make changes. Let us know that you would like a copy and we will arrange for the candidate to discuss this with you once the examination has concluded.

Honorarium

When we receive your report, you will be paid AU$425 for a doctoral thesis or AUD$240 for a masters thesis.

Australian examiners need to submit a Tax File Number declaration. Alternatively, examiners with ABNs can invoice us for the full amount plus GST.

If you are an overseas examiner, you will be issued a cheque in your local currency or be paid directly into your account. You must provide your banking details, including SWIFT code. IBAN is also required for payment in Euro.
