Postgraduate future students
The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering offers suitably qualified
engineering graduates the opportunity to undertake a higher degree
in a range of research areas, including:

- Thermodynamics & Heat Transfer Robotics
- Mechatronics
in one of the following research groups within the Department:
- Fluids Laboratory for Aeronautical and Industrial Fluid Dynamics

- Turbulence Research, Aerospace and Combustion, Laboratory for
(LTRAC)
- Automotive (CRC Advanced Automotive Technology)
- Composite structures (CRC for Advanced Composite Structures)
- DSTO Centre of Expertise (Structural Mechanics)
- Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management (IEEM)
- Integrated Engineering Asset Management (CIEAM)
- Maintenance Technology Institute (MTI)
- Micro/nano solid and fluid mechanics (MNRL)
- Railway technology (CRC for Rail Technology and IRT)
- Robotics and Mechatronics Research Laboratory (RMRL)
Postgraduate research students undertake either a Master
of Engineering Science (Research) degree over two years or a Doctor
of Philosophy degree over three years.
