FAQs for Homestay Families Payments
For a full week's stay, hosts are paid $217. If your student stays for less than a week, you will be paid pro rata at the rate of $31 per night. Every Thursday, hosts are paid by direct deposit into their nominated bank account, for the period from Monday to Sunday night inclusive.
Students have already been oriented that they must cover all their own phone calls. Students may purchase calling cards to make international calls or can dial 0012 (instead of 0011) to find out the cost of calls and pay the homestay accordingly. Homestays may wish to keep a log book or have a specific system to monitor out-going calls.
