Language and Learning Resource Centres

CALT provides two Language and Learning Resource Centres (Clayton and Caulfield) where students can use video, audio, print and computer-based resources. The Resource Centres contain a range of student materials which have been developed or selected by Language and Learning staff, including specialised course booklets, "QuickRef" sheets, and a selection of the best commercially available materials.

Clayton:

Language and Learning Resource Centre:

Available for individual or group study. Print materials, audio tapes, video tapes and software are available for use at the Centre only.

Language and Learning Writing Lab:

The Language and Learning Writing Lab offers:

• Software tutorials on language and study skills development.
• Internet access to Language and Learning Online and other recommended web sites.
• Support from Language and Learning lecturers and technical staff.

The lab has 20 PCs for student use. Specialised software provides assistance in assignment writing, speaking and listening. Language and Learning lecturers can provide supervised sessions during semester to work with students who wish to improve academic study skills and general English proficiency.

Caulfield

Language and Learning Independent Learning Centre:

Available for individual or group study. A small number of PCs are available for student use.

The Centre offers:

• Software tutorials on language and study skills development.
• Internet access to Language and Learning Online and other recommended web sites.
• Support from Language and Learning lecturers and staff.

Other Campuses

Specialised resources are available for use at the Berwick, Peninsula, Gippsland and Parkville campuses by arrangement with Language and Learning staff.
