Stages

Listening isn't something that you just do at one place and at one time. Especially when it comes to listening at lectures, there are many stages of the listening process. The first stage is before the lecture itself, when you can prepare for the lecture you are about to hear. The second stage happens during the lecture, when you need to concentrate on what the lecturer is saying and identify what the most important points are. The third stage of listening comes after the lecture. This is an opportunity for you to review your notes and reflect on what topics came up during the lecture.
