Speeding things upDevelop your own personal abbreviation system. Make up your own short forms for common, frequently-used words and terms which are significant in your discipline/subject. The first step is to leave out the vowels (or some of them) -- for example, write vowels as vwls, & thn prhps sm f th cnsnts as well ( consonants > cnsnnts > cnsnts). (If you're into SMS you're probably doing a lot of this already.) But be careful! In another context, cnsnts could stand for consents, and f could mean for.
