Visual learners prefer pictures, diagrams, handouts, films, videos. They tend to use words like 'show me', 'what does it look like'. They prefer to see instructions or see someone demonstrate something. They use lists to see the tasks. They use their computer desktops visually!

Auditory learners prefer listening to spoken words, songs and prefer to communicate their ideas verbally. They will use phrases like 'say it again' or 'tell me about' or 'let's talk about it further'. They prefer to learn by listening to instructions and can remember words and phrases and verbal nuances of what they hear.

Kinaesthetic learners are tactile learners and use their physical experience of the world - holding, touching, using, and doing. They are hands-on people. They prefer to use phrases like 'how do you feel about' or 'let me try this' or 'let me run through that again'. These people are the experimenters and the doers! They prefer to have a go than read or hear any instructions!
