Electronic memory devices

How can you use your latest digital device to help you remember?

  • You can use a small digital recorder to note important things you need to remember or carry a notepad and pen with you to write things.
  • Assistive technology can help with memory recording and retrieval. You can try out a Quicktionary pen Opens in a new window, which is a scanning pen that you can scroll across text and upload onto your computer later, so the information is stored digitally.
  • You can use digital audio recorders to record important reminders.
  • You can use your mobile phones to set an alarm or reminder, or you can use an electronic diary to set reminders of assessment due dates and meeting times and so on.

Most importantly, use what works for you!

You won't believe this but a friend of mine who just loves his computer and is pretty into technical stuff, got his computer to welcome him in sound every time he switched it on with a voice welcome and also a list of difficult subject words he had to remember! It was awesome!
