More effective feedback

Ask yourself these questions.

  • Is your understanding of feedback the same as the students' understanding?
  • Have you explained what sort of feedback you provide?
  • Do you have several ways of providing feedback?
  • Whose responsibility is it to provide feedback on content, on written expression, on grammar or spelling?
  • Have you explained how grades are determined?
  • Is the feedback timely?
  • Have you offered suggestions on how they can improve their marks?
