Write the thesis

Whatever type of thesis you are preparing, you will be writing it from the time that you begin your research proposal.

In this section of the site you will become familiar with the process for structuring this large work and the requirements for developing and writing the various parts of the thesis, from the introductory chapter to the conclusion, taking in the demands of writing about the literature and methodology, reporting and discussing findings, and ultimately the scholarly dissemination or publication of your research. You will also find advice about writing an abstract, and knowing when your thesis is finished.

While you will select your own structure and form for your thesis within the constraints of your discipline (and here analysing sample theses may be useful), you will be bound by academic convention and rigour and the requirement to meet the standards for a PhD.
