Speaking to an audience is a skill which can be learned. Moreover, it is a skill that improves with practice, whether you are presenting a formal seminar, or leading a discussion.
There are many public speaking courses you can attend, and such books as Woodall (1990) can give good advice to follow in developing these abilities.
