What does the university mean by 'independent learning'?

'Independent learning' could be such a broad topic of discussion. In university study, however, there are two main aspects: self-reliance in organising your learning and individual thought.
Developing independence
The university provides resources to help you approach and manage your studies

provides an authoritative range of resources for successful academic performance. - The Monash Transition Program, for students adjusting to tertiary study, provides a list of useful resources for self-development and the development of independent learning skills .
- There is also an excellent range of counselling self-help resources available at Community Services including Skills for Independent Learning at University .
