Familiarising students with your voiceMost teaching staff have their photo on the web somewhere, whether in their Departmental website or on their own homepage. As an extension of this idea, you can also make it possible for students to familiarise themselves with your accent and your way of speaking, to help their comprehension in your classes. With current technology it is a fairly simple matter to record (audio or video) a short self-introduction - say, up to 5 minutes long - as an MP3 and/or MPEG file. Situate this next to your photo on MUSO sites, and provide a transcript. This could be an introduction to yourself, your research and your teaching; you might also want to record a mini-lecture, again with transcript, introducing each course you teach.
