Explore the Library website to find the many online resources available to you. The best places to start are the Library guides and the Resources and activities page.
You are eligible for services on the Students page, as well as the following services as an off-campus student:
You can request items for postal loan online through Search or by phone. Consult About borrowing for details of your entitlements, making a request, renewals and fines.
The Library will pay for the outward postage; you pay for the return postage. Returned items must reach the Library by the due date rather than be posted on the due date; you are responsible for items posted to you until they are returned to the Library. You should advise Library staff when requesting items if the postal service to your area is likely to require more than one week for receiving items.
Some limitations to postal loans apply if you are not resident in Australia.
Undergraduate students: You can request electronic copies of journal articles and book chapters only available in the Library in print, via the off-campus copy request form. Items held in reserve collections may be requested.
You can place a document delivery request for electronic delivery of copies from journal articles, book chapters etc from any Monash library, or for inter-library loans from a range of suppliers. For information on other services for postgraduates see Library services for researchers.
You can visit any branch of the Library to use services and facilities or borrow items in person.
You can also visit and borrow from non-Monash libraries - in Victoria you can register under the CAVAL scheme, while residents of other Australian states or New Zealand can register under the University Libraries of Australia and New Zealand (ULANZ) scheme.
Off campus students can register for the CAVAL scheme by submitting the CAVAL registration/enrolment form by fax or post to Services for Off-campus Students.
Monash off-campus students who live overseas may request a letter of introduction from us to use when enquiring about access to local libraries. Please note that privileges are dependent upon policies of the lending library.
