Facilities, resources and services are provided at the library branches with the primary goal of supporting the learning, teaching and research activities of the students and staff of Monash University.
Members of the public are welcome to visit the library and can pay a membership fee to borrow.
Access to word processing and the internet at Monash University requires passwords and is restricted to students and staff of the university. Members of the public may access these services in local public libraries.
To enable a functional and pleasant environment for library users the following guidelines are in place at all eight branches of the Monash University Library:
No hot, smelly, or messy food is allowed in the library. Cold snack food (packaged) is allowed throughout the library except in reserve and special collections, near computers and in signed quiet study areas. Please use bins for waste.
Plain water and covered drinks (with lids) are allowed throughout the library except in reserve and special collections and near computers. Please use bins for waste.
A moderate level of noise is permitted throughout the library except in signed quiet study areas and during the lead up to exams.
Mobile phones set to vibrate or silent are allowed throughout the library except in signed quiet study areas.
