Research data management initiatives undertaken at Monash represent an ongoing commitment by the University to best practice in research and the delivery of research impact. The driving themes behind Monash University's Research Data Management Strategy and Strategic Plan 2012-2015 exemplify current directions through: "excellence and impact", "world class infrastructure", "skills and knowledge", "integrity and professionalism" and "leadership and collaboration".
2012
- Research Data Management Strategy and Strategic Plan 2012-2015 released.
- A number of other organisations start deploying Monash-developed data management solutions:
- TARDIS/MyTARDIS: This data management solution was initially developed for protein crystallography. The product has been deployed or will be deployed at the Australian Synchrotron, the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) and the Universities of Melbourne and Sydney, and is being considered by other institutions. The TARDIS codebase has also been repurposed for use in disciplines outside of protein crystallography.
- OzFlux Repository: This data management solution for ecological measurements was initially developed for Monash researchers in the OzFlux community, and is now being considered by other organisations including the Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network (TERN), CSIRO, the University of Sydney and James Cook University.
- The National eCollaboration Tools and Resources (NeCTAR) program awards funding to four Monash-led projects in Round 1:
