Contains over 4,300 references to secondary literature in European languages about Islam in contemporary Sub-Saharan Africa from 1960 to 2005. Many entries have abstracts, prepared either by the African Studies Centre library staff or by authors, publishers, and journals. Sources consulted for the compilation of the bibliography include library catalogs, published bibliographies, and literature references in recent publications. Researchers, responding to a call for references announced on various listservs, have also contributed to the content.
