Borrowing for visitors

Visitors are defined as all other members of the community who are not current staff or students of Monash University:

  • Monash University alumni can register to borrow from the Library - see Alumni services page for details.

  • Staff and students of other universities and academic institutions may be eligible for membership through reciprocal borrowing schemes:
  • Individual members of the public can join the Library by registering as members and paying a fee.

Borrowing entitlements

  • 15 items for two weeks
  • High-demand, restricted loan, reserve items and journals cannot be borrowed;

  • All Library members can usually renew their books, using Search, if no-one else is waiting for them. With Search a hold can also be placed on a book on loan or at another campus.
  • You won't be able to borrow or renew loans if you have an item that is overdue
