
The Music and Multimedia Collection contains information in a range of formats: music scores, CDs, vinyl record, 78rpm, cassette tape, DVDs, video tapes, CD-ROMs, microfilms, microfiche and kits.
Collection items can be viewed and listened to in the library, using the multimedia equipment available, or borrowed for study or home use.
The Music collection features classical, jazz, popular and Australian compositions. Of particular note are the Ethnomusicology collection and the specialist music archives:

Use Search to discover material in the collection. Most items are available for loan to Monash University staff and students, CAVAL, ULA borrowers and fee-paying members. Some collections of rare material are on closed access and can only be consulted in the library. Search will indicate whether the item you want is on closed access. Ask for assistance to use this material. Staff and students from other institutions can borrow most material held in the collection by requesting the required item from the Document Delivery/Inter LibraryLoans section of your institution's library.
Items in high-demand may be placed on restricted loan. Loans may be overnight or the item may be placed in the Matheson Reserve collection on three hour loan.
Loans for class screenings must be arranged in advance with the Multimedia Officer.
