1 September - 29 February 2000
This exhibition centres on two of the less-well known areas of the Monash Rare Book Collection: a collection of American science fiction magazines from the 1920s to the 1960s, and our collection of comics.
Also included are a number of eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth century novels and journals by writers such as Jonathan Swift, Jules Verne, H. G. Wells, and even Carter Brown (under a pseudonym).

17 June - 20 August 1999
This exhibition includes works from the 16th to the early 20th century, from Marco Polo to "Chinese" Morrison. There are 17th and 18th century maps as well as photographic albums from the 1890s.
The "Far-East" includes the area from India to China and Japan. This exhibition includes tales from less-famous as well as well-known travellers.

18 March - 10 June 1999
This exhibition shows some of the extensive collection of Australian literature held in the Monash Rare Book collection. Items displayed range from the 1920s to the late 1990s and include examples of the works of many of Australia's most important writers, e.g. Kenneth Slessor, A.D. Hope, Judith Wright, and Patrick White.
The poets and the literary periodicals of the '70's, 80's and '90's were well represented.
