Monash-Warwick Strategic Funding Initiative 2012-13

Applications are now open for the third round of the Monash-Warwick Strategic Funding Initiative. The scheme supports mutually beneficial growth in the research and teaching excellence of both institutions. The selection criteria for the scheme are:

a) Technical merit i.e. the importance/novelty of the project within its field or in terms of the challenges it seeks to address.

b) Strategic merit/alignment: The selection committee will be guided by these considerations:

1. how the project advances the interests of both institutions:
2. the presence of a clear case of complementarity/synergy: and
3. funding potential (e.g. demonstrated fit with funding priorities of funding bodies identified as targets by the applicants) and/or evidence of a clear educational need (including potential to enhance quality) or student demand

c) Joint capacity: the standing and track record of the academics involved and evidence of their shared commitment to achieving the aims of the project.
