Training

A. Policy


  • Staff dealing with overseas students are advised of their relevant responsibilities under the National Code, the ESOS Act 2000 and any relevant State requirements as part of induction or in-house training (NC 50)
  • Staff support to enable effective task allocation and carriage (AVCC 9)

B. Guidelines

In order for Monash staff to understand their compliance obligations, training is essential. The responsibility for this training rests primarily with Monash International in providing an annual round of training for staff. At the same time ESOS compliance officers in each faculty have a responsibility to keep a record of staff requiring training in their faculty and arranging for this training on a faculty basis or as part of university wide training.

C. Obligations

1. Monash International (to be devolved to university)
 
  • Provide an annual round of training for Monash staff
  • To be available for faculty and unit briefings as required
2. Faculty
 
  • To keep a record of faculty staff who:
    1. Have ESOS responsibilities
    2. Attend ESOS training
  • To make information available to faculty staff as required concerning ESOS obligations
3. Monash International Pty Ltd
 
  • To keep a record of faculty staff who:
    1. Have ESOS responsibilities
    2. Attend ESOS training
  • To make information available to Monash International Pty Ltd staff as required concerning ESOS obligations
