    • Orientation
    • Academic progress
    • Further study
    • Accommodation (NC 6)
  • Where students are under 18, accommodation and welfare arrangements must be approved by the provider (unless the student is accompanied by a parent/guardian, or staying with a relative aged 21 or over) (NC 47)

B. Guidelines

The provision of relevant and pertinent on arrival information is crucial to a student’s adjustment to Australia and academic success at Monash. Responsibility for orientation is primarily a Monash International responsibility but each faculty must also provide orientation in the areas of academic progress and further study.

DEST have advised that the obligations concerning providing information about further study is met if:

'International students may find it difficult to understand how the Australian education system is connected under the AQTF. This information (the web link and the ATQF overview), when given to and discussed with international students, would comply with the requirements of paragraph 46.3 of the National Code'.
