CRICOS
Attendance for students enrolled in Monash College and MUELC is recorded systematically
Attendance records are monitored every fortnightly for non-attendance
Procedures are in place for contacting and counselling students who are absent more than 5 consecutive days without prior approval, or who are not consistently attending their course
AUSTRALIAN RESIDENCE
Monash International Pty Ltd is incorporated in Australia and has its central management and control in Australia
CRICOS
All course durations entered on CRICOS are determined on the basis of the normal amount of full-time study required to complete the course and only includes any period of work based training which is a mandatory requirement of the course
All courses submitted to RECRUITMENT AND MARKETING DIVISION for registration on CRICOS and all courses registered on CRICOS are offered full time, on campus and include nomenclature consistent with the course award
All course durations entered on CRICOS are determined on the basis of the normal amount of full-time study required to complete the course and only includes any period of work based training which is a mandatory requirement of the course
Procedures are in place for informing the CRICOS Officer of any changes to a CRICOS registered course
MARKETING AND RECRUITMENT
Marketing is conducted with integrity and accuracy
Staff involved in recruitment missions are trained in ESOS requirements prior to departure
Students qualifications and proficiencies are assessed by a suitably qualified person
NOTIFICATION TO DEST/DIMIA
DEST is notified within 14 days of the prescribed details for each accepted student
DEST is notified within 14 days of the prescribed details for students who defer commencement or transfer courses
ORIENTATION
Orientation programs are provided for each intake of international students and include information about academic progress, further study and accommodation
PROVISION OF INFORMATION TO STUDENTS AND USE OF INFORMATION
Students are provided with all necessary information prior to enrolment
All reasonable steps are taken to ensure that the student providing personal information to Monash University and Monash International Pty Ltd is made aware that the information may be made available to Commonwealth and State agencies
REFUND OF COURSE MONEY
Students are advised prior to payment of fees that where the provider defaults refunds must be paid in accordance with the provisions of the ESOS Act 2000 and the ESOS Regulations 2001 (which is the total amount of the course money received from the student).
No fees from an overseas student or intending overseas student are accepted unless the student has been given a copy of the refund agreement.
The refund agreement states that "This Agreement does not remove the right to take further action under Australia's consumer protection laws", specifies any other circumstances where a refund would be made and explain that the student is able to pursue other legal remedies.
RPL/CREDIT
A formal process exists in Monash International Pty Ltd for conducting and recording RPL
A record of students granted RPL is signed by the student and a copy placed on central file
Where RPL is granted affecting course duration, the change in course duration is reported via PRISMS
STAFF TRAINING
Monash International Pty Ltd brings to the attention of staff dealing with overseas students their relevant responsibilities under the National Code, the ESOS Act 2000 and any relevant state requirements
An ESOS Compliance officer has been nominated and compliance responsibilities incorporated into their Position Description and annual performance appraisal
All staff who have any ESOS related responsibilities in Monash International Pty Ltd attended an ESOS training session during the preceding year
Information is made available at induction programs for ESOS requirements
Staff support is available to enable effective task allocation and carriage
STUDENT ENROLMENT
Monash International Pty Ltd monitors the full time enrolment load of its international students by running the web based report twice a semester and following up as required
All students are enrolled in a full time on campus study load
No students are permitted to repeat a unit of study more than once as a part time final semester student
Approval for intermission is only given on compassionate grounds
Strategies have been developed and implemented to identify and assist international students at risk of breaching visa conditions relating to academic progress
TEACHING STAFF AND PREMISES
The maximum number of overseas students are specified on CRICOS having regard to the capacity of the provider and the number of other students enrolled
Teaching staff have appropriate qualifications and experience
There are sufficient number of teaching staff for the number of international students under instruction in the faculty
Teaching resources are appropriate for the delivery of courses registered on CRICOS and are adequate for the number of students under instruction, including technological resources
Premises are adequate in terms of space and facilities for the courses to be delivered
TUITION ASSURANCE SCHEME
Monash International Pty Ltd has in place a current indemnity agreement with Monash University and is thereby exempt from being member of the Tuition Assurance Scheme (TAS)
Monash International Pty Ltd contributes to the ESOS Assurance Fund
Monash International sends annual notification (within 28 days of the end of the calendar year) to DEST of continued operation of indemnity agreement along with copy of agreement
