FEAST Info Day

An update on opportunities for research engagement with Europe

Monash University hosted a day of information sessions presented by the Forum for European-Australian Science and Technology Cooperation (FEAST) on Wednesday, 18 November 2009 at Monash University, Clayton Campus.

FEAST is an organisation established by the Australian Government and the European Union to highlight, promote, and facilitate research collaboration between their respective communities. Expert presentations on the day discussed Framework Programme Schemes (FP7) and other funding opportunities, and explored lessons and best practices for Australian researchers wishing to collaborate with their European counterparts.

The Info Day:

  • provided an overview of the structure of the European research systems;
  • described the current state of collaborative activity;
  • identified major opportunities for collaboration;
  • discussed financial support for collaborative research; and
  • highlighted some successful outcomes and the resulting best practices.
