Achievements and Outcomes

The Monash University can measure its achievements and outcomes through its solid history of:

  • Building and maintaining strong partnerships with global industry leaders
  • Facilitating spin out companies as a result of research projects with industry and government and
  • Attracting funding from prominent industry leaders.

2007 Research income

  • Total research income increased from $189 million in 2006 to around $233 million in 2007.
  • $15 million was received from the Commonwealth Government to complement the $35 million from the State government for the Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute.
  • In 2007 Monash received $49 million in National Health and Medical Research Council grants, up from $39 million in 2006.
  • Australian Research Council grants increased from $35.2 million in 2006 to $38.7 million in 2007.
