Monash enables you to celebrate your academic achievements with family and friends. Do this in a traditional way by attending a ceremony, or graduate without attending.
Graduation is not automatic
- Current students should apply in your final year.
- Past students can apply anytime.
Options
You need to choose:
- whether to attend a ceremony, or not attend (graduate in absentia)
- the ceremony location in Australia or overseas
- the semester of graduation.
Overseas ceremonies
If you choose a ceremony in China or Hong Kong, you must attend the ceremony in person.
Closing dates
- Semester 1 ceremonies - December 15 of previous year.
- Semester 2 ceremonies - July 15 of current year.
Apply before the closing date to allow us time to confirm your course completion:
- if you don't complete your course, we will defer your graduation
- you can apply and defer graduating to a future year
- you can only defer your graduation once
- if you need to pass a summer semester unit, you may not be course completed in time to graduate in semester 1.
