Engineering Leadership Program

"The opportunity to network with industry professionals and the skills we learnt will open up so many doors for me in the future."
- Jenny Li, Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering student

The Faculty of Engineering's leadership program extends the skills of students, preparing them for a career in engineering.

The program focuses on leadership and is designed to extend and challenge high-achieving students, complementing their studies in engineering disciplines. First year students are invited to be part of the program, based on their Year 12 results, and second year students can also apply to participate. Each student in the program also receives a scholarship for the duration of their degree.

The program begins with a two day residential induction workshop, followed by nine topic modules over three years, and regular seminars and activities with industry and research leaders.

Students who participate are given the opportunity to talk with engineers about their careers, 'shadow' them in their workplace, and spend a week working with an engineering organisation.
