Donald Cochrane Postgraduate Research Scholarship (Faculty of Business and Economics)

The Donald Cochrane Postgraduate Research Scholarship provides opportunities for outstanding PhD students in the Faculty of Business and Economics.

Fiona and Andrew Cochrane created the scholarship to honour their late father Emeritus Professor Donald Cochrane CBE who was the founding Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Politics (now Business and Economics) at Monash University.

The scholarship currently supports two new PhD students each year. Monash is seeking to create a third scholarship. Your support of this additional scholarship will honour Professor Cochrane's legacy while helping exceptional students to pursue innovative research.

Emeritus Professor Donald Cochrane CBE was the founding Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Politics (now Business and Economics). Under his guidance, Monash University grew to be recognised as a leading centre of economics research and teaching. Professor Cochrane was recognised for his public service with a CBE (Commander of the British Empire) in 1975. He served the University from 1961 to 1981 and passed away in 1983.
