Monash has more than 270,000 graduates spanning all corners of the globe. Gifts from these generous alumni help us to build upon our ambitious program of research and education.
Our alumni and friends annual appeal program focuses on student support, with a particular focus on the Achieving Potential Fund. Faculty-specific appeals focus on annual key funding priorities with the aim of supporting students to lead, achieve and succeed.

All gifts, great and small contribute to the success of our students.
Alumna Brenda Wardlaw (BEc (Hons) 1975) gives a face to the many quiet Achieving Potential Fund donors whose recurring donations added together sustain the University’s student support initiatives. Read more.
We work with our colleagues to raise funds for designated priorities in each of the University’s 10 faculties, campuses and research centre in Prato, Italy. The priorities fall broadly under the categories of student support (scholarships and bursaries), teaching and learning initiatives, research projects, and campus enhancements. By making a major gift, alumni can contribute towards a specific area of interest.

Major gift philanthropy is playing a role in helping to preserve snapshots of Indigenous languages facing extinction.
Alumni Dr Alan Finkel AM and Dr Elizabeth Finkel have made a transformational gift to help conserve these languages through the creation of the Monash Country Lines Archive. Read more.
Many alumni are inspired to leave a bequest to Monash in their will to recognise the University's influence on their lives or on the lives of others. Bequests from alumni have supported teaching and learning, research, library resources, and student scholarships, bursaries and prizes.

Alumnus Dr Paul Gardner AM (PhD 1974) has a strong belief in giving back to the community.
He has expressed his gratitude to Monash University for a rewarding 36-year career by making a bequest to the Faculty of Education. Read more.
