Message from the Campaign Chair

Monash University is a young university with amazing achievements over 50 years. It is a different university – motivated to be absolutely world class. It is building its own legacy and a commitment to: research; educational excellence and diversity; and academic leadership.

Monash is carving a name for itself internationally, based on its willingness to take on the world. But Monash can’t do it alone. To continue the great legacy that Monash is building - and to ensure that legacy is accessible to all – takes support. That’s where the Monash University Campaign comes in. This fundraising campaign is a key part of Monash’s quest to become one of the world’s greatest universities.

I am convinced that providing the next generation with better opportunities than we had ourselves is one of the most important duties we inherit. Through this campaign, we all have the opportunity to make a positive, sustained and truly significant impact on the lives of Australians and people around the world. And there are few campaigns that have such a direct opportunity to make a difference in an individual’s life.

Through scholarships and bursaries - our support will mean the difference between no university education and education that allows a student to achieve her highest potential.

By empowering research – we can help find the cures and treatments, find new ways to do business, and promote vibrant and sustainable communities. After all, research strikes at the very heart of any successful organisation and business – because, in the end, our ability to innovate may be our only sustainable competitive edge.

This is truly an exciting time for Monash University.

As a Monash graduate and a volunteer, I have had the benefit of a Monash education and I’ve built a career on the foundation that the University gave me. Monash has had a tremendous impact on my life and I am looking forward to providing that opportunity to as many others as possible.

There are just so many great things that this campaign can achieve and my ultimate dream is that I can have a true impact by making the Monash educational experience available, accessible and affordable to everyone.
