Understanding your fee statement

Your statement details your course and unit enrolment and the fees due. You can view your statement and past payments in the Web Enrolment System (WES). For information on when your statement is made available, see payment dates.

Changes to enrolment

You can make changes to your enrolment using WES, such as adding or dropping units. Within 10 days you will receive a new statement in WES. See check enrolment details.

If you want to change your course, contact your faculty.

Pay by the due date

The due date is shown on the top right of your fee statement. For payment methods, see pay your fees.

Use WES to update your name or address. It's your responsibility to notify us of any changes to your name and address to ensure you receive important communications from the University.

Understanding your statement

Assessed amount Course fees for this semester
Balance brought forward Amount owing from last semester
Census date Cut-off date for enrolment changes that affect your fees (i.e. you must pay fees for any units you withdraw from after this date). See census dates
EFTSL Equivalent Full-Time Student Load. This is your study load for the semester. See study load
Fine Amount you must pay as a penalty. This includes faculty and administrative fines.
Loan scheme Loans schemes assist eligible, domestic students with the cost of course fees. The loan scheme amount is the amount deferred to the government through HECS-HELP, FEE-HELP and SA-HELP, including amounts under BOTP (Bridging for Overseas-Trained Professionals). Late enrolment fee Penalty charged when you haven't re-enrolled by the due date
Reinstatement fee Penalty charged when your enrolment is cancelled (invalidated) due to outstanding fees
Payment due date The date by which you must pay your fees
Student balance Amount you must pay (minus discounts and student/sponsor payments)
Student contribution amount Lower course fee payable by students in a Commonwealth Support Place (CSP). Eligible students may defer the amount to the government (you do not have to pay now) using the HECS-HELP loan scheme. See Commonwealth Supported Place
Student contribution upfront payment Amount you agreed to pay directly to the University (minus the discount for paying $500 and above or 90% of the assessed amount)
Student payments Payments you have made
Student services and amenities fee Amount charged for student services. See Student Services and Amenities Fee
Student status For office use only
Teaching period Period that this statement relates to. See definition of teaching periods
TFN Tax file number. Government loan scheme (HECS-HELP, FEE-HELP, SA-HELP) students must provide this to the Australian Tax Office
Total amount payable Amount you must pay this invoice cycle
Tuition fee Payable by students charged at the full course-fee rate
Upfront discount Discount given to Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) student for paying fees upfront
